Uttarakand Assembly Election 2012 All Dates


Today, election commission (EC) announced dates of forthcoming Assembly elections in the state of Uttarakand. Present Uttarakand assembly is going to expire on 12.03.2012; therefore, it was necessary for Election Commission to conduct these elections before this date. Assembly Elections in the state of Goa, Manipur, Uttarakand, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will be conducted together. There are total 70 Assembly seats in Uttarakan and out of which 13 are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 2 are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes. As per the latest electoral rolls, total population of voters in Uttarakand is 5740148. Photo electoral rolls are mandatory for voting in these elections. Like earlier elections, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used for Uttarakand Assembly Election 2012. Elections in Uttarakand will be completed with the help of 9744 polling stations spread across Punjab. 99.8% voters in Uttarakand have Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC). Election commission has introduced toll free number 1950 for registering complains related to Election.
